While the whale in this story isn't what I'd personally call a "paper whale", the story itself is in a very similar vein to many of the species I cover here and it illustrates just how confusing the naming, studying and categorization of whales can be. Uko Gorter is an excellent cetacean illustrator and I think I've unknowingly used his artwork as reference for my own on several occasions, so I feel like I kind of owe him a feature on this blog as well.
