Videos of interest: How Can Something So Boring Be So Fascinating? The History of Cetacean Taxonomy and Nomenclature

This is a recording of a panel about cetacean taxonomy hosted by Tom Jefferson (a cetologist whose 2021 paper I reference a ton) at the 2022 American Cetacean Society Conference. While he doesn’t go into nomen dubium, I feel like this is a very good introduction to taxonomy (especially in the context of cetaceans) and it covers some of the most important rules. It’s an excellent crash course.
